Privacystatement
Identity
ASK-Opinions B.V. is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 81618131 (hereinafter 'ASK-Opinions') and is responsible within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act. This privacy policy outlines, among other things, what data may be collected and how ASK-Opinions uses this data.
Categories of Personal Data
When registering on ASK-Opinions.com, you are asked to provide your personal data. The following personal data is processed by us:
Name, Address, and Residence
Email address
Phone number
In addition, we also process your IBAN number (for payments) and the profile questionnaire.
Purposes for Collecting Data
The personal data is used by ASK-Opinions to invite you to participate in research and to pay out your balance/won prizes. Additionally, ASK-Opinions may send you communications. The surveys you are invited to participate in by ASK-Opinions ask for your opinion or experiences on various topics. This data is used by ASK-Opinions for analysis purposes to improve the services offered to its clients. The research data is processed anonymously and is edited in such a way that it cannot be traced back to an individual level.
ASK-Opinions primarily focuses on online research. You are a voluntary member of the panel, and you can unsubscribe at any time on the ASK-Opinions website. Additionally, we organize special promotions for our members, such as discounts, contests, and other similar activities.
It is possible that clients may receive/store (personal) background information during a survey. This never happens in combination with your first name, last name, email, or phone number, but solely combined with an anonymous user ID. Examples of background information include gender, education level, age, etc. This information is used, for example, for the following purposes: 1) To ensure the technical functioning of our reward system so we can track whether you have completed a survey. 2) To enable (statistical) research analyses for research agencies; 3) To check whether there are surveys available for you with our clients, with the aim of minimizing the chances of being screened out (unable to participate because you do not belong to the target group). Research agencies are located all over the world, and some clients are based outside the EU. Naturally, we rigorously check the quality and privacy processes. When this happens, we always assess the quality of the client, for example, whether they are Privacy Shield Certified.
Are there other ways for ASK-Opinions to collect personal data?
ASK-Opinions processes the personal data that you, as a panel member, provide. Additionally, ASK-Opinions uses functionalities and technologies that ensure the website is user-friendly, functional, and personalized. The most well-known example of such functionalities is cookies. ASK-Opinions uses three types of cookies: functional cookies and analytical cookies.
Data processing in the Netherlands and abroad
Your personal data will only be stored and processed in the Netherlands and in countries for which this is permitted under Dutch law and the GDPR.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies are only used to ensure the proper functioning of the surveys you receive from ASK-Opinions. For example, these cookies prevent a respondent from participating in a survey multiple times or, in some cases, allow you to resume where you left off if you stop midway through a survey.
Analytical cookies
In addition to functional cookies, ASK-Opinions uses analytical cookies for the panel website. These analytical cookies are used to analyze the website usage of ASK-Opinions.com. No data is stored regarding your other internet usage.
Duration of Data Storage
ASK-Opinions stores your data as long as you are a member of the panel. Once you unsubscribe, ASK-Opinions stops processing your personal data. The data known to ASK-Opinions is then "hashed," meaning that it is no longer viewable but can still be used to demonstrate that all recipients of ASK-Opinions messages had previously given consent. After five years, following the end of the storage period, the panel member will be fully removed from the panel. This storage period is recommended by the Autoriteit Consument & Markt to demonstrate that all recipients of ASK-Opinions messages had previously given consent.
Protection of Your Data
To protect your personal data, we have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures. This ensures that your personal data is secured against loss or any form of unlawful processing. These security measures include the use of secure socket layer (SSL) / Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption and other forms of encryption. Upon unsubscribing, the individual's sensitive data is cryptographically hashed. Hashing transforms information that is normally readable by anyone into unreadable information. Additionally, it becomes virtually impossible to retrieve the original information due to cryptographic properties.
Which rights do you have?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives members more control over their personal data. Below are the rights you have as a panel member according to the GDPR.

From an invitation, you are redirected to the survey of the investigating party (the client) with an anonymous user ID. Therefore, the right of access does not extend to viewing anonymous responses used for statistical research.
Right to Object / Restriction of Processing / Right to Be Forgotten
Every panel member has the right to object, to modify the data being processed, and to be forgotten. If a panel member exercises one or more of these rights, ASK-Opinions will unsubscribe the panel member. A panel member can exercise one or more of these rights by contacting ASK-Opinions via the contact details provided below. Once a panel member is unsubscribed from the panel, their data will be "hashed."
